The objective was to better support guest-house parents in their work by offering them an online MovieLearning platform with examples that match their practical challenges. The online learning platform contains 6 courses that cover the six tensionfields in parenting. Each of the 6 courses contains a range of film clip examples: from ideal situations to seriously problematic ones. In addition, each course contains the related developmental psychology and defense mechanisms, also richly illustrated with video examples. Besides the fact that this material can be used at Levvel Youthcare, it was also the explicit goal to create material that can subsequently be used in other youth care institutions.

The implementation consisted of a blended learning trajectory of 7 training days spread over about two years (because of Covid). The target group consisted of ten youth care workers, who during the course used their expertise to improve the 6 online courses we built.

The result of this project was that we created a method with which youth care workers are better able to engage the guest-house parents. During the project, we even made MovieLearning available on cell phones, in order to lower the threshold of using the methodology. The rich array of recognizable video examples makes guest-house parents feel understood in their challenges.
